Below we have listed FAQ’s that may be helpful, however, if you have any questions about how the free sessions work, please don’t hesitate to ask. Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free Kindy?

Yes. We are an approved Kindergarten Program Provider and can offer free Kindy sessions at our centres.

What days and times are the Kindy sessions offered?

These run from 8.30am – 4.00pm Mon to Fri.

What happens on days that my child attends that aren’t free Kindy sessions?

Other days of attendance are standard days and charged the usual way, with your CCS applied as you have been used to.

Is the program delivered by a teacher?

Yes, we have qualified teachers delivering the program in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework 2.0 and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline.

When are free Kindy sessions available?

Our Kindy program runs at the same time as the Qld Government state school terms. We are open on school pupil free days, however, will continue to close on public holidays.

How does payment work?

CCS is applied to the 7.5 hour session and the Qld Government pays the gap for the 40 weeks that the program runs (aligned with school terms).

Can I still use long day care outside the Kindy Sessions?

Yes, we welcome you to use care outside the Kindy sessions with regular or casual bookings (if places are available).

How is day care charged on the days that my child attends the Kindy session?

The day is charged at the standard daily rate and CCS applied to the session hours outside the Kindy session. Gap fees apply only for the difference in hours between your session booking and the 7.5 hours Kindy session. E.g. for an 11-hour session, the gap fee is payable by you for only 3.5 hours of the day.

What happens outside school terms?

The Kindy program does not run. Standard long day care fees will apply for these periods. To help understand costs, we recommend you use the calculator of the Starting Blocks website Child Care Subsidy Calculator at Starting Blocks.gov.au. Please let us know if you need assistance with this.
