Peta Pitcher
Chief Executive Officer
CEO Peta Pitcher joined API Qld in 2017, after a successful career in private enterprise and Federal Government. Bringing with her significant early year’s education experience, as an owner operator and Approved Provider since 2006. Peta holds a Master of Business Administration, Master of Project Management, Graduate Certificate in Business and is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course. She is a hands-on executive manager and has been integral in the strategic expansion plans for API’s early childhood business. Peta holds a position on the Australian Childcare Alliance Board and is an active sector advocate with government and key stakeholders.
Lynne Dixon
Operations Manager
Operations Manager Lynne Dixon has extensive experience in service-based organisations, covering the broad range of life from early years to aged care. Lynne holds significant operational expertise in business expansion in the early years space. Her expansive career covers government, public organisations and private enterprise and is supported with qualifications including a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) and Master of Health Science.
Kim van Straaten
Centre Manager Milton
Kim van Straaten, grew up in South Africa and came to Australia as an adult. After spending a year in Sydney, she joined us in sunny Brisbane and soon after commenced with API Childcare, now canopy Early Education Milton, starting as an Educator in 2017. Kim has qualifications and a background finance and law; however, she was driven for a change in focus to an area she felt very passionate about and made the switch to childcare. Kim gets a lot of satisfaction and happiness working in the early years education sector and her desire to make a difference and create a positive learning environment for children has pushed her to continue studying in the field, now on her way to completing a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching.
Conor Anderson
Centre Manager Dakabin
Conor Anderson’s passion for working with children began at the age of 16 when he took on the role of an indoor soccer coach for under-10s. This experience sparked his interest in childcare, leading him to pursue a career in the field at 18 to further develop his skills and abilities in supporting children.
With nine years of experience in the childcare sector, spanning Early Learning to Outside School Hours Care, Conor’s dedication to community connections and inspiring other men in the industry has grown. He aims to demonstrate and inspire that men can play a vital role in early childhood education.
