Together We Grow

Discover canopy

Welcome to Canopy Early Education, where we learn, grow, and discover together.

Our passionate childcare educators, children, and their families create childcare within a community focused on a shared belief. Together we deliver childcare with an understanding that learning fosters growth and enables each child their own unique journey during their early years.

At Canopy, children’s learning, and community engagement thrive. Together, we ensure quality childcare for families and offer children the best possible start for their learning journey. Our nurturing environment supports educators, children, families, and the community.

Claire Johnston
President

At Canopy Early Education, a not-for-profit with a 100 year strong history, we are dedicated to early childhood education with the safety and wellbeing of every child central to our purpose. We are deeply committed to fostering a child-safe culture that is reflected in our governance, team values, and community partnerships.

We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, supported, and heard. Our team culture is grounded in generosity, respect, and shared responsibility—where educators, staff, and volunteers work together to create nurturing environments that empower children to thrive.

As a not-for-profit, our governance practices are transparent, inclusive, and accountable. We embed child safety into every level of decision-making, ensuring that our policies, training, and risk management strategies uphold the highest standards of care. We actively engage families and communities, advocating for children’s rights and wellbeing in all that we do.

As Board President, I affirm our unwavering commitment to child safety and our dedication to building a legacy of trust, empowerment, and excellence for every child and family we serve.

Tom Allsop
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

At Canopy Early Education, our purpose is clear. To support every child to grow, learn, and belong within safe, nurturing, and inspiring environments. As a not-for-profit organisation with more than a century of service to Queensland families, we are proud to continue a legacy that places children’s wellbeing, learning, and dignity at the centre of everything we do.

The early years are foundational for lifelong development. This understanding shapes the way we design our services, support our educators, and partner with families and communities. Our educators and teams bring deep professionalism, care, and commitment to their work each day, creating environments where children are respected as capable individuals and encouraged to explore, discover, and flourish.

As Chief Executive Officer, I am committed to ensuring our organisation continues to uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and accountability. We invest in strong leadership, contemporary educational practice, and a culture that supports our people to do their best work for children. Being a not-for-profit means every decision we make is guided by our purpose and reinvested into strengthening outcomes for children, families, and communities.

Together with our Board, educators, and community partners, we remain focused on building a future where every child is valued, every family feels connected, and every service reflects our enduring commitment to excellence in early education.

Enrolment & Fees

1. How do I enrol my child at Canopy Early Education?

Simply click “Enquire Now” or click here and complete the short form. Our team will be in touch to learn a bit more about your child and family and book a visit to the centre. From there, we’d love you to join us for a complimentary ‘stay and play’ and we’ll send you the enrolment form. Please note that due to demand, some centres may have a waitlist – if so, we’ll explain the process and keep you updated regularly.

2. Are there any hidden or additional fees?

No. Canopy Early Education operates on a no-additional-fees model, so the fee you’re quoted covers your child’s learning program, meals, and everyday essentials – with no hidden extras

3. Can I get help with the cost of childcare through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

Most Australian families are eligible for the Government’s Child Care Subsidy, which reduces your out-of-pocket fees. You can estimate your entitlement using the Child Care Subsidy Calculator or check your eligibility via Services Australia.

4. Will I still be charged if my child is away or on holiday?

Yes. Our daily fees continue throughout the year, including public holidays and times when your child is away on a family holiday. This helps us keep your child’s place secure and available for their return, so you can enjoy your time away knowing their place at the centre is reserved.

Acknowledgement of Country

Canopy Early Education acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Country on whose land we learn and recognises the continuing connections to land, water, and community. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to the Elders – past, present, and emerging.
