Kim van Straaten
Centre Manager Milton
Kim van Straaten, grew up in South Africa and came to Australia as an adult. After spending a year in Sydney, she joined us in sunny Brisbane and soon after commenced with API Childcare, now canopy Early Education Milton, starting as an Educator in 2017. Kim has qualifications and a background finance and law; however, she was driven for a change in focus to an area she felt very passionate about and made the switch to childcare. Kim gets a lot of satisfaction and happiness working in the early years education sector and her desire to make a difference and create a positive learning environment for children has pushed her to continue studying in the field, now on her way to completing a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching.
Conor Anderson
Centre Manager Dakabin
Conor Anderson’s passion for working with children began at the age of 16 when he took on the role of an indoor soccer coach for under-10s. This experience sparked his interest in childcare, leading him to pursue a career in the field at 18 to further develop his skills and abilities in supporting children.
With nine years of experience in the childcare sector, spanning Early Learning to Outside School Hours Care, Conor’s dedication to community connections and inspiring other men in the industry has grown. He aims to demonstrate and inspire that men can play a vital role in early childhood education.
Bri Ladlay
Centre Manager ormiston
My journey in early childhood education is driven by a deep commitment to creating nurturing, inspiring environments where children can thrive. I’ve been consistently working in the sector for almost six years, and I’m proud to have recently stepped into the role of Centre Manager at canopy Early Education Ormiston.
As a parent myself, I understand the trust families place in early education services. That personal insight fuels my passion for supporting children’s development and building strong, meaningful relationships with families. I believe in the power of play-based learning and am committed to creating a space where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to explore their world.
In my role as Centre Manager, I take a thoughtful, hands-on approach to leading our team and upholding the high standards of care and education that canopy is known for.
